Our process

Strategy and build happen at the same desk, so the plan is always something we can actually ship.

  1. 01 Discovery & research

Stakeholder interviews, competitive landscape, and audience mapping. We learn your world before prescribing a path forward.

  2. 02 Define & position

We turn insights into clear positioning, goals, and success metrics the whole team can align on.

  3. 03 Plan & prioritize

A scope, roadmap, and phasing plan that balances ambition with budget, so nothing gets cut at the last minute.

FAQs

What is a digital strategy, and do I need one?

A digital strategy is the plan behind your website or product: who it's for, what it needs to do, and how it's structured to get there. If you're launching something new, redesigning, or your current site isn't converting, a strategy phase keeps the project focused and saves rework later.

Do I need strategy if I already know what I want?

Usually you know the destination, and strategy confirms the route. We pressure-test your ideas against your audience and goals, fill in the gaps, and turn them into a plan we can design and build. It can be as light as a single workshop.

How long does a strategy engagement take?

It depends on scope. A focused phase for a small business site can wrap up in a couple of weeks, while larger products with user research take longer. You'll get a timeline up front before we start.

What deliverables come out of a strategy phase?

Typically a sitemap and information architecture, user flows, wireframes or a clickable prototype, and a prioritized roadmap with scope and phasing, all ready to hand straight into design and development.

Do you work with Santa Cruz businesses in person?

Yes. Our studio is at 2825 Porter St in Santa Cruz, and we're happy to meet in person for kickoffs and workshops. We also work remotely with clients across the Bay Area and beyond.
